Sony Computer Entertainment was established in 1993 by Sony and Sony Music Entertainment Japan, and launched the original PlayStation in Japan on December 3, 1994. It followed with PlayStation 2 (2000), PlayStation 3 (2006), PlayStation 4 (2013) and PlayStation 5 (2020). On April 1, 2016, it became Sony Interactive Entertainment.
