Koji Kondo

Kondo joined Nintendo in 1984 as its first staff member to specialize in musical composition. He scored Super Mario Bros. (1985), whose main theme became the first video game music added to the U.S. National Recording Registry, and The Legend of Zelda series. Since the early 2000s he has increasingly supervised and advised other composers while holding a senior position in Nintendo's Entertainment Planning & Development division.
