Gunpei Yokoi

Yokoi joined Nintendo in 1965, and his extending-arm toy was commercialized as the Ultra Hand in 1966. He went on to create Game & Watch (1980) and Game Boy (1989), and produced titles such as Metroid and Kid Icarus. After leaving Nintendo in 1996 he co-founded Koto Laboratory, which led development of Bandai's WonderSwan; he died in 1997.
